Health and Safety Information
The Salveson Ski Group aims to have a doctor and one or two nurses on each trip to the USA.
All necessary first aid equipment, drugs and miscellaneous equipment (i.e. nebuliser, blood glucose monitor etc) is taken on the trip.
All aspects of health and safety are considered before booking the flights and travelling.
The accommodation in the USA is subject to American health and safety regulations. The NSCD has it's own health and safety regulations
as regards the equipment.
We aim to consider all aspects of health and safety with regard to each individual child in the form of risk assessments prior to travelling.
We will be developing care plans for each child/teenager as well.

Learn the right way to lift things
- Think first.
- Stand as close to the load as possible. Spread your feet to create a stable base.
- Bend your knees and keep your back in a natural line. Do not bend your knees fully as this will reduce your power to lift considerably.
- Grasp the load firmly.
- Raise your head.
- Lift with your legs. Avoid twisting your body.
- Use leverage, balance, momentum and timing for a smooth lifting action.
- Hold the load close to the centre of your body.
