Intimate Care Policy whilst on Ski Trip

This is the intimate care policy for all volunteers on the Salveson Ski Trip.

  1. All young people will be assessed by Dr Judy White or the equivalent person for suitability for the ski trip with special regard to personal care.
  2. All information received by Dr Judy White is strictly confidential but will be shared with individual carers/volunteers when the need arises with consent of the parents/guardians.
  3. Advice and training will be given to all volunteers with respect to personal intimate care as necessary with strict guidelines as to what is correct or incorrect procedure. Gloves and aprons to be worn at all times of intimate contact with a young person.
  4. There will always be absolute respect to each individual with regard to help with intimate care.
  5. All SSG volunteers have been CRB enhanced checked before the trip.
  6. Any volunteer who has any concerns regarding intimate care during the ski trip is required to bring it to the attention of Dr Judy White or Mrs Paula Kirk.
  7. Any young person with concerns regarding to care being given to them must bring it to the attention of Dr Judy White or Mrs Paula Kirk as soon as there is a concern.
