SSG Trustees

I took early retirement from being a GP in 2001 and have given some of my time to form, run and guide this Charity forward. I now have a wonderful enthusiastic committee to run the charity with me. It is a real privilege for me to share in the work and the annual trip. I am responsible for assessing and co-ordinating the Young People specifically, on top of the normal Chairman activities! I am also acting as Treasurer at the moment, supported by my Vice Chairman. If you have any questions relating to being on one of our trips, please send me an email.

I am currently serving in the Royal Navy as the Senior Air Engineer Officer on 848 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, running a small team of 250 people and 10 aircraft.

I joined the Charity in 2006 as a Volunteer and whilst there, I was persuaded to help out on the Committee. I was elected by the outgoing trustees and other volunteers to the position of Vice Chairman, which I happily accepted. I am responsible for co-ordinating the team of Volunteers and the fund-raising which so many of the volunteers are involved with. I am the newest member of the Charity, having been persuaded to join at the AGM in 2008. I run a company called SG Associates and we are a firm of Executive Search Consultants. I have extensive experience of accounting as I have been working in banking, business and organisational development, financial project management and consulting amongst other things!
