SSG Trip 2007 Volunteers

Jamie Chestnutt Jamie Chestnutt

I joined the Royal Navy in 1993, straight from School. I qualified initially as an Air Engineering Officer and then transferred to become a Helicopter Pilot. I have done tours in Northern Ireland and Iraq, as well as Search and Rescue in Cornwall for 18 months. I am now a Helicopter Test Pilot in Portsmouth. My interests include Sports Cars and Motor Racing, Computers and Rock Climbing. I am a keen Snowboarder too.
Rachel Hughes Rachel Hughes

I work as a Youth Worker. I have two roles. The first is working with the Leighton- Linslade Youth Forum. My second role is to manage the TACTIC Centre. This is a Teenage Advice and Information Centre for young people aged between 12 and 21. I am also currently studying Youth and Community Development. When I am not working or studying, I enjoy going to the gym with my sister, tap dancing, reading and getting together with friends. I am energetic and bubbly, and an enthusiastic snowboarder.
Phil White Phil White

I work as a plumber at present although I am trained at many things! I have been a chef, a Ski Instructor, Cabin Crew for a charter airline and an Accounts Manager for a telecommunications company. I enjoy travelling and have a touring caravan in which I have travelled all over Europe. I am a DIY expert and have put my skills to the test by renovating a Victorian House. I still go skiing with friends every year and am looking forward to returning to Winter Park this year.
Jenny Johnston Jenny Johnston (Team Doctor)

Hi. I'm Jen and I am one of the Team Doctors on this trip. I studied Medecine at Edinburgh University before joining the Royal Army Medical Corps. I have been posted in Suffold until recently and now work at Headley Court at the Services Rehabilitation Centre, where injured Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen come to recover. I met my husband at University and we married last year. I enjoy running, mountaineering and motorcycling but enjoy all sports! This is my third trip to the NSCD and I am really looking forward to meeting everyone.
Paul McIntosh Paul McIntosh

I live in Truro with my partner, Barbara Sage. I am looking forward to another successful trip to Winter Park. I have been nominated as Head Catering Manager for the trip so I would like to apologise to everyone now for them losing weight on the trip! The skiing will be good though and so will the smiles on the faces of the Young People.
Barbara Sage Barbara Sage

I enjoy keeping fit and running and am an active person. I also enjoy a wide range of music. Most of all, I love my animals and wish I could take my cat skiing! I really enjoyed last years SSG trip and am looking forward to this years trip. I will be assisting, with my partner Paul, with the Entertainment and Catering, so any special requests, let me know.
Jud Kirk Jud Kirk

I've had a varied career starting with banking, teaching PE including working in a Special School, and now training to be an electrician (with some teaching!). I am a keen runner, although running at altitude could be a new challenge! This will be my second trip with the Salveson Ski Group and I'm looking forward to learning from all the experienced skiiers! I also run the Charity Web Site so be nice to me and i'll not put on the pictures of you falling over!
Lesley Dodd Lesley Dodd (Team Nurse)

I trained as a Nurse originally and I am currently working as an Occupational Health Advisor to the Open University. Part of my nursing was done with the Army, which also had me doing daft things like Static Parachute Jumps from 2000ft! I have recently taken up karate and I now instruct alongside my son. I am a keen skier and after 20 years of practice I can just about master Parallel Turns! This will be my first trip with the SSG and I am really looking forward to it.
Mandy Cox Mandy Cox (Team Nurse)

I am a single mother to Sam, my 17 year old who has just passed his driving test. We live in Torquay with our 2 cats and can see the sea from our house! I love walking and last year started learning to sail Yachts too. I hope to take my Day Skipper exams this year. I am a keen skier and also enjoy running (I ran the Great South Run for "SANDS" last year). I am a trained nurse and have worked in the community for many years. I am currently the manager for Children'sServices in the South West.
Hanna Dodd Hanna Dodd

I'm 20 years old and just full of life. I've recently finished studying Public Service at college with a hope to go into the Army. I like meeting new people and doing new things. This trip covers both so I'm really looking forward to it. I drive an old Volvo 340 called Betty and she is very senior in years! She is also in regular need of attention from my Dad! I am a regular skier and looking forward to returning to Colorado again.
