Day 9 - Travel day (23 Feb 09)

Today was the final part of our trip - the long journey home. We were very kindly met by the Lakewood Police again, who drove us to the airport and ensured we all got through check-in without any problems. We are very grateful to Eric and his team for all their continued support and thank them all.

The flight was a long overnight flight - but that didn't stop all our young people from staying up all night - watching films and mesing around - while most of the volunteers and all the rest of the aircraft slept!

We were met at the airport by a huge group of parents all ready to pick up their youngsters! Everyone was successfully reunited (or sent on their way in taxis!) and that brings a conclusion to our trip!

This trip has been made possible by a considerable effort from the committee, the volunteers, our many supporters and fundraisers, and all our friends in America. Without them, none of this would be possible and our team of young people wouldn't have had the trip at all. A big thank you goes out to all for everything they have done and we look forward to planning the 2010 trip now!
