YP Information

Who

Salveson Ski Group takes about 12 people every year on our trip. The age span is between 12 and 18 and we have a good mix of boys and girls. We can adapt and cater for most levels of disability. We have had disabilities such as:

• amputees (arms, legs or both)
• aspergers and autism
• blindness
• cerebral palsy
• downs syndrome
• learning difficulties
• microcephaly

We can take 2 or 3 Wheelchairs each year as part of the group although we can use more for the journey, getting through the airport etc. Each Young Person will be assigned one of our Volunteers, two if you are in a Wheelchair, who will be responsible for you throughout the trip. They will meet you before the trip so you can get to know them. They will then assist you through the airport and whilst in Winter Park. They will be responsible for your welfare, money (if you wish them to be), medical supplies, shopping etc and will also make sure you are in the right place at the right time (I might ask that you ensure that they are in the right place at the right time and you look after them for me, too!).

We are a National Charity so it doesn't matter where you live. We will come and visit you, meet you and assess you, give you more information and ask you to fill in some forms too.
